Dawn Lindsay, Violin

| Dawn Wohlgemuth Lindsay was raised in Alaska. She began violin studies at age five. Dawn has studied with Dr. Suzuki in Matsumoto, Japan, at Indiana University, and at the University of North Texas where she received a full scholarship and a degree in violin performance. She has worked with many orchestras in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and was a tenured member of the Mississippi Symphony and concertmaster of the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra of Jackson. She has toured in Europe with the North Carolina School of the Arts International Festival Orchestra and the University of North Texas Symphony. Active in the Anchorage music community, Dawn has served as coach with the Anchorage Youth Symphony and is on the Board of Directors of the Birchwood Music Camp. She is currently assistant concertmaster and featured chamber musician for the Anchorage Festival of Music and has performed numerous chamber music recitals around the state. Dawn has been awarded the Shinichi Suzuki Scholar grant for continuing education at the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point for the years 2000 and 2001. Ms. Lindsay maintains a Suzuki violin studio in Anchorage. |
