Ingrid Bock, Cello

Cellist Ingrid Bock enjoys a wide variety of musical activities in Rochester, New York, as teacher, performer, and concert presenter. For ten years she was a full time instructor of cello and chamber music at the Eastman School of Music’s Community Education Division, and was the coordinator and director of the Summer Chamber Music Workshop there. Ingrid is a regular performer with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the principal cellist of the Rochester Chamber Orchestra, and the founder and director of Fortissimo!, Rochester’s summer chamber music festival. She is a founding member of the Cello Divas, an ensemble performing throughout New York State and dedicated to commissioning new works for cello quartet. During 1998 and 1999, Ingrid lived near Burlington, Vermont, where she taught cello and chamber music at the Monteverdi Music School, instituted a cello study program at an area elementary school, and was a member of the Vermont Symphony and the Vermont Mozart Festival. Ingrid received the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and the Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, where she was a student of Cleveland Quartet cellist Paul Katz. Apart from her musical activities, she enjoys reading, running, games, gardening, and her large family of very active pets.
