From Fairbanks, Patrick was named a 2007 Young Performing Artist by the Yamaha Corporation of America.  He won first place in the Alaska MTNA Senior Strings competitions in 2007, 2008, and 2009, and was named Alternate at the 2008 Northwest Division MTNA competition.  He won first place at the 2009 MTNA Northwest Division competition and competed as a National Finalist in Atlanta.  He has served as principal cellist of the Juilliard Pre-College Symphony, the Alaska All-State Honors Orchestra, in addition to having been selected as a member of the 2007 All-Northwest Honors Orchestra and the 2008 National Honors Orchestra. Patrick played numerous command performances at state Solo/Ensemble competitions in Alaska.  At Juilliard, he worked with conductors Alan Gilbert, Bernard Haitink, James DePriest, and Tan Dun.

Patrick appeared three times as soloist with the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra, as winner of its 2001, 2005, and 2006 Concerto Competitions.  As winner of the 2008 Juilliard Pre-College Concerto Competition, he performed with the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra playing Haydn’s D Major cello concerto. For the past three years, Patrick has appeared in solo recital as part of the St. Gregory’s Recital Series in Woodstock, New York. He was selected to perform in cello solo and chamber music master classes at the 2004 and 2006 Suzuki Association of the Americas National Conferences.  He studies chamber music with Earl Carlyss and Nicholas Eanet, and members of the Juilliard Quartet, and has worked with Ann Setzer, Masao Kawasaki, Constance Moore, and Victoria Mushkatkol.   Patrick participated in master classes with Richard Aaron, Gilda Barston, Zuill Bailey, Colin Carr, Andres Diaz, Timothy Eddy, Claude and Pamela Frank, Antonio Lysy, Daniel Phillips, and Carmit Zori.
